I want this highlighting hairstyle, how do i get it?

i want to highlight the lower half of my hair, but i dont no how to explain it. heres a link to an example photo (4th picture down w/ the gray)

i mite get it done at a salon or i might do it myself..i hav a few questions..





1) if i get it at the salon, how do i describe this style?


2) if i do this by myself, HOW do i do it? XD


3) what color would look the best on me? (i hav jet black hair)

1)take a picture, it's way simpler.


2)getting clip in extensions would be easier, but if you want to dye it i understand.


okay you'll need bleach, gray dye, and some foils(you can get them at sally's or anywhere where they sell professional quality hair dye and the like). pull out the hair you want gray, and put bleach on it to lift the black, wrap it in the foil so the bleach is only on that hair. rinse the bleach according to the instructions and repeat with the gray. the foils aren't necessary at this point because the gray won't dye the black.





as far as color i think pink or teal. but the gray is nice too :D
there called peek a boo highlights, i have them blonde on my jet black hair.


you can random strands of hair on your bottom half of hair that are visible and bleach and/or dye.


i have blonde on mines, but purple and bright red would look great.





if you go the salon just take the picture and they'll know exactly what you mean, but honestly i did mines myself.

2) Impossible... don't even try.





3) Jet black? Then try white or grey. Or purple.

print the picture out and take it to the salon....they SHOULD know what to do(if i was you ask around and find out with salon is the best with ';edgey'; hair styles)


well if you do happen to do it yourself you need to put the top layers of your hair up and take pieces of your bottom hair that you want to be what ever color you want and ';foil'; your hair. i hope you know how to do that....and to make sure you don't get any high light stuff on you hair put condintioner on the the parts that you don't want to be that color( does that make any sense?)


hmmm........if you have jet black hair. pink, blue, purple, red or white would look cool but its up to you its YOUR hair:)
