it is highly recommended that you bleach it first....as the dye doesn't take well in dark hair

Depends on which brand of hair color
FACT: reds fade the fastest. as a stylist, i cant stress it enough...... use professional quality color safe shampoo/ conditioner if you want it to last! redken is great. and properly used, Halo high gloss rinse will do wonders for the vibrancy.
