I was wanting to know what shades of blonde and red would be best for medium brown hair?I'm going to be getting my hair highlighted with blonde and red highlights?
any r good. But the sunlight changes ur highlight, just so u should know. I dyed, bleached, and highlighted my hair over 20 times. The sunlight changes the hair over time. I have black hair. the color and ur natural hair doesnt make a diffrenence. But when ur hair grows again theres a combination. For me, because i have black hai; i like yellow highlights and bleach because sunlight cant realy change it. Depends on your skin tone. Try doing a cool ashy blonde with a warm red or vice versa. That's pretty universal. Ash colors will make you look pasty and warm colors will brighten you depending on your skin tone.

You need to bleach the pieces you want red a light blonde first, and then put the red on the blonde parts.

Best advice. Bring a picture of what your looking for. Most hairdressers don't know what your talking about and guess what it is your trying to achieve. I want dark brown hair with blood red highlights?

I have naturally auburn hair, but I want to try a new look. I would like to try dark brown hair and put really red (blood red) highlights in it. Yes, I know the whole goth/emo whatever look. Is there a way that I can do that myself? If so, can I get some instructions on how to do it. i think itd look really kool but DONT do it at home! go 2 a salon and get it done proffessionally so theres a lower risk of it going wrong! itll cost around 60 pounds depending on what salon u go 2!

I would recommend going to a hairdresser, but here is a way to do it yourself:





(1. Put streaks of blonde in your hair (with bleach - you can buy this at your local chemist/drug store).





(2. Buy a blood red hair dye at your local supermarket.





You have to wait between 2-3 days after the bleaching though!





And you can dye your hair dark brown from the supermarket too.
I used to have my hair like that but I don't have hightlights anymore. If I were you, I'd go to a salon.

I have kind of dark dirty blonde hair, very rosy cheeks and blue green eyes.


I am afraid if I get red highlights, it will make my face look even more red. Then if I get blue it might make me look a little pale, or it will look weird.

Your face won't look too red, but it will warm it up. I suggest choosing the most natural shade possible, because not many people can pull off bright, colored highlights with blonde hair. And I definitely think blue will clash with your coloring. I want to dye my hair soft black with red highlights and get it cut I do have light skin what do you think?

Well, it actually depends on what natural hair colour you have. If you are blonde, or red-haired, your skin might be light. If you've got light skin, black could turn out, especially if you've got light eyes. But I'm not so sure about the reh highlights.. they are not for light-skinned people. You could try out something lighter, like brown or blonde. What do you think?
