What highlight color would look good with red?

i have dyed gingery red hair, and I really wanna get highlights. lots of my friends are saying blonde, but i want dark ones. What color should i go for?What highlight color would look good with red?
I'm not sure that dark ones would fit in with a ginger red colour.
